1/3 to 1 whole lemon sliced thin ( according to taste)
    1 large onion chopped fine
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. Worcestershire Sauce
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 t. chili powder
    1 t. salt
    1 t. celery seed
    1 c. ketchup
    few drops of Tabasco sauce
    1-2 c water
Brown lemon and onion. Add other ingredients in a sauce pan, bring to a boil. Pour sauce over meat for last hour of cooking.
Works well with pork, never tried it with chicken. It is not so good with beef.

There are two types of this not sure which kind you want.

My two are basically the same:
    ketchup
    brown sugar
    vinegar
    worchestershire sauce
    hot sauce
    chopped onion

The second one is different because you put it on the barbecue so it has melted butter in it that melts off. For baked spareribs that would be too greasy.

That is the basic recipe – I can give you the full ingredients if you want.
Most start with ketchup but some have maple syrup or other twists.

I use this one then jazz it up or down depending on the item in question for cooking at home. I have a secret recipe we use for our catering events thats awesome.

1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce
1/4 cup water (use it to rinse out the bottle)
    3 tablespoons cider vinegar
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    1 tablespoon mustard
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    1 teaspoon liquid smoke

Combine in a bowl, you can heat it up to intensify the flavors til it barely starts to bubble or use it cold to bring a subtle flavor as you cook with it.
