Smoker Grill Accessories
Well we’re getting ready to cross into 2011 into and that means that we’re only a pork chops throw away from BBQ season. I know, I can hear you die hards out there “Season! There’s no stinkin season, we do it all year long.” Great guys and I applaud you, but there comes a point where the snow is taller than the grill and that’s where I draw the line. I can live with being called a wimp in this case.
The thing is though it matters not whether you BBQ all year long or let the grill sit on the deck aging along with its smoker grill accessories. The point is your stuff is wearing out, rusting or disintegrating and probably needs replacing. Now you know that you’re going to be responsible turning out the barbequed beast this year at family functions and that a good part of doing any job right is the tools you use. So take a look at those smoker grill accessories you have right now, some of them are in pretty sorry shape aren’t they? Not Good!
It’s especially not good if you are using a propane grill and the only thing holding those burners together is the corrosion. I know you probably think that this keeps it exciting, but we really don’t need you becoming the human torch. At the very least you could disappoint a whole bunch of folks when the grill just stops grilling in the middle of a family BBQ.

The Origination of the BBQ.
Here is what historians say about the origination of the BBQ. They believe that the word barbeque came from the language of a people in a far away land (Florida and the Caribbean) and literally translates into “Sacred Fire Pit”. Ok so far so good, but here is where they lose me.
Traditional barbacoa (as it was called) entailed digging a large hole and then placing an entire goat in the pit over a pot. The pot was there to collect the juices from the goat in order to make a hearty broth. Then they covered the whole thing with manguey leaves (whatever they are) and then set light to it. Ok folks I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing I like better than to sit down with a nice hot bowl of hearty goat broth.
Fortunately for us over the centuries the activity of barbequing has become a whole lot more appealing. We now have regions in the U.S. that specialize in their own unique styles of BBQ, such as Memphis and Texas. Also hundreds of competitions take place every year across the country and bring out some of the most talented grillers in the around. Tell you what though all this talk of BBQ is making me hungry and I can’t wait for the first piece of meat to come off the grill. This indoor cooking stuff is getting old. Got any good recipes?
